Highly experienced nanny (10+ years) available in Berlin

I'm Lara (28 from Melbourne, Australia). I moved to Berlin at the start of 2025 after 6 months of travelling and volunteering around Europe. I have over 10 years experience as a nanny, from living in Italy as an Au Pair, to working for many families for several years. I am somewhat new to this platform so can only get reviews from families that I have worked for on here, but I have many references that I can supply you with. I have looked after every kind of child, from newborns to tweens - I have calmly coped with newborn babies refusing to sleep, tantrum-prone toddlers, and anxious school kids - I have truly seen it all. With this extensive experience, I have developed a vast degree of patience and can easily adapt to different family dynamics. I am a very compassionate, caring and warm person, and respond well to kids who are similar in nature, though also appreciate that some prefer more space. I have experience with those with physical and/or intellectual disabilities, severe allergies and skin conditions. I am a very active caretaker, always suggesting and facilitating activities like cooking, going to the library, park or perhaps a kids exhibition space - all age and ability-dependent of course. I will happily assist with all domestic duties including cooking (for the kids or the whole family), washing and cleaning. I am reliable and trustworthy and can comfortably facilitate school pick ups and drop offs, take them to lessons i.e. swimming lessons or swim with them at the pool in summertime. I think outside time is important so in the winter time I like to rug them up and still get some fresh air, even if it is just a short walk. I make an effort to optimise the home space and keep kids excited about it - with board games, colouring, arts and crafts and hide and seek, or even building a little cubby house out of blankets and pillows.     I took care of Anastasiia's sweet little boy for 3+ hours/day, 5 days a week for several weeks between January-February 2025. This care looked like playing with toys, arts and crafts, walking and scootering to the park and playing at the playground.

    I am currently looking after Eric's dear little 2 month old each week. We will spend between 4 and 6 hours together, where we will play at home until she is sleepy, and then go for a long walk while she naps. If she is asleep at home, I contribute to domestic household duties like cleaning and washing.

  • April 2015 - Dezember 2015

    I was a live-in Au Pair for Samantha's children for 11 months, in Florence, Italy. The care involved looking after 5 year old twins (1 boy, 1 girl) and their 8 year old older sister. Living together, I definitely felt part of the family and became very close to the kids. I also spent 2 months in the US with them. The care involved feeding them, bathing them, helping put them to bed every night.

  • Februar 2016 - April 2019

    I looked after Alix's two little boys for many years (from the ages of 6 months and 6 years old). This care involved lots of playing, reading, trips to the playground, bike and scooter riding, cooking their dinner, bathing them, putting them down for naps and assisting with kinder and school pick ups as they got a little bit older.

  • Juni 2016 - März 2020

    I looked after Nancy's two boys for several years, doing 10 hour days (8am-6pm). They were between 8 months and 7 years old. Both boys had extreme cases of eczema as well as a number of food allergies, thus this care required some vigilance and thorough care. The care also included preparing meals in bulk, all household duties, school/kinder pick ups, library visits and doctors appointments.

  • September 2019 - Juni 2021

    I looked after Jeremy's two girls for almost 2 years. I usually did 8-11 hour days, starting at 7am. The girls were from newborn age to 3. This care involved everything from getting the girls dressed in the morning, giving breakfast, taking them out, putting them down for naps and all household duties, preparing bulk meals for both kids and parents. I very much felt part of the family :)
